Arkansas Imagination library

HOW IT WORKS

In all 75 Arkansas counties, the Imagination Library is supported by three nonprofit organizations working together:

  • The Dollywood Foundation
  • Arkansas Imagination Library
  • 50+ Local Program Partners

Together, these organizations ensure that every child in Arkansas has access to free, high-quality, age-appropriate books from Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

How it Works

Thanks to Dolly Parton and her charitable foundation, The Dollywood Foundation, books from the Imagination Library are available at a deeply discounted rate. Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library mails books directly to each registered child every month, addressed in the child’s name – at no cost to families. Books are chosen by early childhood literacy experts and include two bilingual Spanish-English selections each year. Audio and braille formats are also available.

As a 501(c)3, the Arkansas Imagination Library is responsible for fostering growth, development, and sustainability for the program in all 75 counties.

The Arkansas Department of Education, Arkansas Governor, and State of Arkansas has generously invested in the Arkansas Imagination Library to provide a 50% match to all Local Program Partners, cutting the cost of each book in half.

Arkansas Imagination Library is successful thanks to partnerships with over 75 Local Program Partners. Each Local Program Partner is a 501(c)3 organization, and is responsible for promoting, managing, and fundraising for the Imagination Library within its respective county.

By working together, Arkansas Imagination Library is able to send over 82,000 books each month to children and their families for free!
