Each year, the esteemed Blue Ribbon Book Selection Committee, a specially selected panel of early childhood literacy experts, is responsible for reviewing hundreds of potential titles for inclusion in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
Recent studies suggest participation in the Imagination Library is positively and significantly associated with higher measures of early language and math development. The Blue Ribbon Book Selection Committee takes great care in choosing books that meet the different needs of children as they progress from birth to age five.

Bilingual Book Collection
Families in Arkansas now have the option to receive ALL bilingual English/Spanish Imagination Library books. Learn about how to update your child's book language preference.
For existing enrollments:
Caregivers can log into the parent portal to update their language preference for books to all bilingual books.
- After logging into the parent portal, the update can be made in the Book Language prefernces section.
- If selected, every book mailed will have both English and Spanish text on each page.
For new enrollments:
Caregivers can choose which collection of books they prefer when initially registering their child. Caregivers have two options:
- A collection of primarily English books with an occasional bilingual English/Spanish book.
- A collection of ALL bilingual English/Spanish books.
